IFMA Helps Others

The Chapter is very active in charitable ways. In addition to supporting our members' charitable activities, we support the Boston Medical Center SPARK Center, Jimmy Fund, as well as local food pantries. To participate in a community project, you can contact Bill Osborn of Rentacrate or the Chapter office.

TRI-STATE TREK (July 2008)
This 270 mile, 3-day bike trek from Newton MA to White Plains NY raises awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, and funds for ALS TDI - a Cambridge based non-profit research group that is breaking barriers in the bio-tech industry and making strides in ALS research. Volunteers are welcome to help staff the IFMA Boston sponsored Rest Stop and cheer on riders including some of our very own IFMA Boston members. More cowbells!!! BACK PACK PROGRAM (SUMMER 2008)
There are an estimated 40,000 homeless children in the state of Massachusetts. Help us launch this new program and build a backpack of supplies for these children as they return to school! It's a simple way to make a difference in a child's life - volunteer organizations are needed to host a backpack and help us make this an exceptional annual event! IFMA Boston Community Projects needs your help - let us know if you think your organization can participate. Help build a school backpack for kids returning to school. Contact Jeanne MacLellan, or Stephanie Rozzi, Fox Relocation Management Corp.

Jimmy Fund Walk (September 2008)
For six years, IFMA Boston Members have participated in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk by volunteering to man a water station. Each year the team provides water, snacks and lots of cheers for the more than 6000 participants of this ambitious event. There's no better way to spend time with your fellow IFMA members and help show your support of the Jimmy Fund (without actually walking yourself!)!! Volunteer to help staff a refreshment stand serving the walkers. Contact Bill Osborn, RentaCrate or Jeff Shute, Kimball Office.

IFMA Community Project: Boston Beltway Food Drive (February 2009)
IFMA Boston is planning a Boston Beltway food drive - targeting Rte 128 and beyond - to show our support of communities outside of Greater Boston. In past years we were able to donate over 3,000 pounds of food, including 30 cases of grape juice donated by Welches! We need volunteer organizations to help us by donating food or volunteering to host a collection site. Help us collect donations for food pantries by donating food or volunteering to host a collection site. Contact: Tracey Beauregard, William A. Berry & Son, Inc. or Bill Osborn of Rentacrate.

NEBFM08 - BOSTON, Fundraiser (April 2009)
For the second year in a row, the chapter will host a Gift Card campaign to help raise funds for the Boston HealthCare for the Homeless Program. A $5 donation buys a gift card to a pharmacy or restaurant which BHCHP uses 100% to benefit the homeless. BHCHP reaches out to the greater Boston homeless population providing much needed medical attention. Visit our booth and buy a Gift Card! Volunteer to work at the IFMA CPC booth, or stop by and help us raise funds for Boston Health Care for the Homeless. Contact Jeanne MacLellan, Fox Relocation Management, or Bill Osborn , RentaCrate.

IFMA Chapter/SPARK Center (May 2009)
Boston Chapter IFMA has supported the SPARK Center (formerly Children's AIDS Programs/CAP House) since its inception. In fact, we were involved in building the facility. Each December, the Chapter holds a Holiday Gala to benefit the SPARK Center and a portion of the proceeds from our Golf Outing in June is also donated. We are very proud of the ongoing support and generosity of the FM community to this important and worthwhile organization. Volunteer to help us get the SPARK Center Garden ready for the summer. Contact Jeff Shute, Kimball or Bill Osborn, RentaCrate. We encourage you to provide whatever support you can throughout the year to the SPARK Center. To learn more about the Spark Center, visit their web site or contact Martha Vibbert at 617.534.2050.
