Sustainability is Everyone’s Business

March 30, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Oracle, the multi-billion dollar global technology company, is a leading manufacturer of database management software and the world’s largest supplier of software for information management and internet computing. Their new, 125,000 SF, five-floor Burlington facility exemplifies Oracle’s commitment to operating a business in a responsible manner that minimizes its environmental impact.

It starts with the 700+ space parking garage, which reduces hardscape on the site, and is also the platform for a 1900 panel, 600 KVa Photovoltaic System.

The building itself was designed to a LEED Gold standard, and represents Oracle’s first implantation of technologies that enhance efficiency and decrease the carbon footprint, utilizing a “Smart building” overlay, so individual building systems will work together to enhance efficiency. Advanced lighting incorporates an Encelium Lighting Control System (ELS) with 100% LED Lighting and Vacancy-Based Occupancy Sensing and Daylight harvesting. A Variable Refrigerant Flow HVAC system has 100% make up fresh air and an energy recovery unit. “Smart” fire extinguisher monitoring and “Smart Dumpsters”, which call for pick up “on demand”, are more examples of how serious is Oracle’s commitment to sustainable business.

Back outside, there are outdoor solar power tables for collaboration, and a “Smart” irrigation system, evaluating watering schedules, rain, and soil moisture content. Come join IFMA on March 30th and hear how Oracle and their design team achieved all this success, AND delivered the project months in advance of the original project schedule.

(limited to 50 attendees, so reserve soon)
